HOME INSPECTORS
Usually, a prospective buyer gets a property under contract, then, during the 'option period,' has the property inspected. Home inspectors charge based on square footage.

ENGINEERS
If the home inspector thinks the foundation may not be functioning properly, he/she will suggest contacting a structural engineer. Structural engineers generally charge from $300 - $500, depending on size.
