Don Harvey knows Austin. He's a long-time resident and well-regarded musician with a passion for Austin's terrific quality of life. Don is a soulful & dynamic drummer. He began playing at age 14 & hit the road at 19. Don received the Best Drummer award at the 2006-2007 Austin Music Awards. He has recorded and/or toured with many wonderful musicians over the years, including but not limited to: Ian McLagan & the Bump Band ,Charlie Sexton, Ronnie Lane, Joe Ely, Billy Bragg, Martha Davis, Storyville, Broken Homes, Alejandro Escovedo, Rob Laufer, Tonio K, David Halley, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Iain Matthews ,Walter Tragert, Jo Carol Pierce, Michael Hall, David Newbould, Jonathan Geffen & the Good Band and David Broza. Pete Townshend joined the Bumps at the 2006-2007 Austin Music Awards & Ronnie Wood joined the Bumps in London (2004) and Houston (2005). Don's produced recordings for artists such as Beaver Nelson (with Rich Brotherton), actor/musician Lukas Haas, Sidehackers, Ned Henry and The Radio Thieves. His soundtrack recordings include Tin Cup and Beverly Hills Cop II.

In 1995, Don co-founded the SIMS Foundation (Services Invested in Musician Support), to help Austin area musicians gain access to affordable mental health services. He co-owned (with Wayne Nagel) the legendary Austin Rehearsal Complex (the ARC)--a hub of Austin music--for a decade.

A percentage of Don's earnings are donated to SIMS.
